About the Experience

The Amvrakikos Gulf is a unique Mediterranean ecosystem, combining shallow waters, wetlands, lagoons and coastal habitats that support a remarkable diversity of wildlife.

During this programme, participants step into the role of environmental researchers. Guided by marine experts, they learn about dolphin ecology, marine conservation and scientific monitoring techniques while exploring the Gulf by boat. Activities may include wildlife observation, photo-identification and learning how researchers collect information about marine populations.

The programme also introduces participants to the wider ecosystem, from important bird habitats to coastal conservation challenges, creating a deeper understanding of the connection between marine life and the environment.

Other Information:

Preveza, Amvrakikos Gulf & Lefkada Island

The journey begins in Preveza, a charming coastal town located at the entrance of the Amvrakikos Gulf.

This protected area is recognised for its rich biodiversity, including important habitats for dolphins, sea turtles and many bird species. The wetlands surrounding the Gulf provide essential feeding and breeding areas for wildlife and form one of Greece’s most valuable natural landscapes.

For those who wish to extend their trip, or add an additional stop the adventure continues to Lefkada Island, combining marine exploration with the beauty of the Ionian coastline, turquoise waters and traditional Greek island life.

Wildlife encounters always depend on nature. Dolphins and other marine species live freely in their natural environment, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Our approach focuses on respectful observation, learning from experts and supporting greater awareness of marine conservation.
