What a great opportunity to explore emerald blue Greek waters and learn about biodiversity & conservation, all while sailing on a luxurious yacht with other like-minded people! This holiday is for teenagers only! Aged 13-17, no parents included!
We will take you on a round tour in one of the most fascinating areas of the Aegean: the Sporades islands. You will be part of our exceptional sailing expeditions and wildlife exploration, on and between the various islands we encounter. The Sporades offer unique habitats, combining lush pine forests with exotic beaches where the movie “Mamma mia” was filmed! Check out this video to get a taste of the experience.
We sail mainly in the National Marine Park of Alonissos, the largest marine protected area in Europe. Its status is given due to the presence of the rarest seal species in the world: the Mediterranean Monk Seal (Monachus monachus). But that’s not all! As we learn everything about this rare and elusive species, and experience its behaviour in its natural habitat, we also go on dolphin expeditions! Let’s become briefly Marine Researchers together! In the field station on Alonissos Island, get introduced in research methods such as dorsal fin photography and GPS-recording. There will be a lecture by the field biologist of MOm on dolphin life history, behavior and identification, threats faced by marine mammals and marine research methods.
Making Tourism a tool for Nature Conservation for all ages and backgrounds!
In addition, we experience the birdlife, butterflies and wildflowers on these lush islands and walk in the shade of their pine forests. We show you how to travel responsibly and sustainably between the different islands, respect their traditions and understand their history. Together, we will make tourism a toοl for Nature Conservation, connect with people and actively contribute to the protection of the natural habitat. However, it is not all work that awaits you here. There is time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the island, mingle with the locals, savor the yummy local delicacies, swim, snorkel and walk on the old footpaths of the islands of the National Marine Park.
